Number One Tip For Sticking To Your New Year’s Resolution

Happy New Year everyone! Excitement and motivation is high and New Year’s resolutions are at the forefront of everyone’s mind. This is the perfect time to start taking on those health and fitness goals you have been longing to achieve.

But, what happens when the excitement dies? What happens when you start to feel like you are not progressing fast enough? What happens when the “New Year, New Goals” motivation starts to fade?

Here Is Our Number One Tip For Sticking To Your New Year’s Resolution:

The excitement of a new year is an amazing motivator, but the ultimate motivator is results!

No matter how big or how small, seeing undeniable results is the exactly the motivation you need. Knowing that your hard work is paying off will empower you to continue working towards those New Year health goals.

Ways To Track Results:

There are a number of ways that you can track your results.

Some fitness and health experts recommend:

Tracking Body Mass Index (BMI) – This can be done with online BMI calculators, but unfortunately it does not take into account muscles mass versus fat mass.

Weigh Yourself – Unfortunately, this does not tell the whole story.

Circumference Measurements – Again, this does not tell the whole story. It is more accurate when coupled with a bathroom scale. For example, if your scale weight stays the same and your measurements decrease, you have likely gained muscle mass and lost fat. While this can help motivate you it is not the MOST accurate measurement of results in terms of overall health.

Progress Photos – If your ultimate goal is to improve what you see in the mirror, this is a great way to track progress. Be careful though, the progress you see in the beginning is typically slow and can be very disheartening. It is difficult to track short term progress by what you see in the mirror.

Our Favorite Way To Track Results…

Body Composition Testing!

Tracking changes in your body composition will tell you the most accurate story of your progress and results. Especially in the beginning of your health journey, you may not see results in the mirror. As you begin to replace fat with muscle, the number on the scale WILL increase and can be disheartening.

This is exactly why we utilize our Body360 test to track results, it includes a body composition test which is much more accurate and will hopefully reveal the small steps of progress along the way. Seeing those small steps of progress is empowering and motivating, this kind of data driven results is exactly what you need to stick to those New Year’s Resolutions.
